Getting Professionally Certified

Through

Business Education Examinations Council (BEEC)

Professional Diploma in Public Relations

This body has its roots in the UK. The President of the Council in Nigeria is Mike Okereke, a one time President of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) and African Public Relations Association(APRA). Their Professional Diploma in Public Relations is recognized by the Chartered Institute of Public Relations (UK) and the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations for membership admission and has been used over the years for further studies starting at 300/PGD/Matster’s level depending on one’s work experience and interest. Young persons without work experience tend to settle for university programme starting at the 300 level and for courses like Mass Communication and Management Science. If you are interested in any other discipline, you can move on to that after your first degree by doing a postgraduate diploma in that area which normally lasts only one year. Thereafter you can do a master's degree in that area and probably procede to the PhD level if you have the intellectual capacity and interest to go that far. Older, more experienced holders of this Professional Diploma who have the means tend to enroll for direct Post Graduate Diploma/Master’s degree programme. Opportunities for this exist both in Nigeria and in the United Kingdom (UK). Doing a conventional undergraduate programme in related areas in a Nigerian university today in the face of this wonderful opportunity has become unreasonable because of the time and money you will waste without getting the skills you desire. This is the reality we face today and as Albert Einstein would say, every person should look for what it is and not what he/she thinks it should be. Life offers most to those who make hay while the sun shines.

The programme has 3 Stages but those who successfully complete the  Accelerated Certification Training (ACT) programme being executed by Ogudoro Leadership Trainers & Management Consultants are permitted to write only the Final stage. This saves them the time and other resources required to sit for the first 2 levels. The training, however, covers the curriculum for the 3 levels. This is a one-off opportunity meaning that it is available only to those who enroll for the ACT programme ( see classes available at www.fasteducation.org.uk/scholarship). BEEC exam which will be conducted in December will last 2 days (exact exam dates will be announced by the Council in November). Result will be released in February, 2013 and statements of result issued immediately.

Opportunity for Networking- High profile government and private sector employees will be participating; so you will meet people who will give you job if you are seeking employment opportunity or contracts and contacts if you are self employed. With this opportunity, you can now get into the university at the time you want, at a cost you can afford, add professional certifications and earn money while there and finish with world-class skills that enable you work and live anywhere you want. This way, you move much faster and truly live life to the full. The times have changed. Do things differently and discover that you are smarter than you think. If you are a youth leader, school counsellor or religious leader, you are particularly encouraged to empower the youths under you by letting them have this information. It's okay to print this page and give it out to them. The graduates among them will enhance their chances of getting jobs by doing this programme which will give them the communication and leadership skills as well as the commercial and global awareness well-paying employers are looking for. Their success in life will enable you to accomplish more. Their lack of knowledge makes them to have needless sense of frustration.
